Welcome to the Cairmgorms
National Park Accommodation and information website. This site
is part of a group of websites which also includes Scotland's
other National Park the
Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
The Cairngorm Park's boundaries were a little controversial in
that it doesn't include a large area to the south which includes
the town of Pitlochray. However this site does include those
areas left out of the park.
The
Area of Cairngorms in the Grampian Mountains is quite vast
and sparsely populated. However those towns and villages
that are present are very different from each other.
The scenery of course
is stunning but this area is not just about iconic views,
there are a huge number of things to do and see. There is of
course the usual walking, hill walking cycling, fishing,
golf and much more but also there is a lot of wildlife to be
seen from the pine martin to Osprey, the black grouse to the
ptarmigan and more.
It should be noted that,
unless you drive without stopping anywhere at all, it is not
possible to go round the whole of the National Park in a day.
To
help you understand the diversity of the park we have split it
up in to North, East and West as well as gateway towns.
We have also added maps for
every town and area as well as comprehensive accommodation
pages. There also pages about the local mountains, fishing and
golf and much more. Please feel free to contact us if you think
we should more to this holistic website about the Cairngorms
National Park.
The map below of the Cairngorms National
Park should help you navigate this website by providing a visual aid to where
the park boundaries are and where the towns lie within.
